MP159
Alloy MP-159
Material Data Sheet
Alloy MP159® is a Nickel-Cobalt based multiphase alloy with excellent strength and ductility in temperatures up to 1100-1200° F. MP159® alloy is produced by vacuum induction melting followed by VAC-ARC remelting to provide optimum control of chemistry and preferred ingot solidification.
It exhibits many of the same characteristics as MP35N®.
This combination of properties enables ultra-high strength, toughness, good ductility and excellent corrosion resistance. Through work strengthening and aging MP159® alloy exhibits high ultimate tensile strength of 275 ksi and yield strength of 265 ksi (Cold Worked and Age Hardened) combined with excellent ductility and toughness.
Alloy MP159® displays similar corrosion resistance to MP35N®, which is usable in mineral acids, hydrogen sulfide, seawater, and salt spray environments. It also exhibits excellent fatigue resistance and creep strength at elevated temperatures and superb resistance to crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement.
MP159® is used in many different industries from prosthetic devices, jet engine components, fasteners, marine applications to petroleum industry applications.
